Introduction

IDMS is a configuration management system that aids the development and maintenance of digital avionic systems, especially those that use MIL-STD-1553 busses. The system is able to generate an Interface Design Document (IDD) and in many ways is a replacement for a traditional IDD.

The system facilities the development of Interface specifications for multiple platforms, variants and versions. All changes to interface data is controlled by access levels and a full version history is maintained. Previous versions can be pulled up at any time. At certain project milestones, the interface data can be tagged so that specific version can be easily referred to.

IDMS greatly simplifies the design review process by producing reports that list differences between interface baselines.
